Dolphin Imaging & Management Solutions: Team Summit and Customer Testimonials

The core of my video work at Dolphin revolved around strategic storytelling, with every project conceived, planned, and executed independently. Over my tenure, I produced numerous testimonial videos, but these two best demonstrate my ability to craft a controlled narrative through carefully structured interview questions.

Role

Managed the entire creative lifecycle: Concept Development, Interview Direction, Videography, Production, and Post-Production.

Challenges

Scheduling is often the greatest challenge in documentary-style videos. Clear communication and meticulous planning are essential. I developed a structured workflow—scripting interview questions, planning shot sequences, and, when necessary, drafting storyboards. Providing these materials to interviewees in advance ensured clarity, minimized surprises, and kept production streamlined.

Concept & Approach

For testimonial videos, the goal is to guide the subject toward responses that align with the narrative objectives while maintaining authenticity. This strategic approach not only reduces editing complexity but also ensures the final product is focused and impactful.

Pre-production is critical—scripting, blocking, and storyboarding ensure a well-structured shoot. Lighting, sound, and atmosphere are carefully planned to maintain visual consistency. On set, directing, coaching, and strategic prompting help create a natural yet purposeful dialogue. With these elements in place, post-production becomes a fluid process, with 80% of the success determined by the planning phase.

Product

Dolphin Imaging & Management Solutions: Product Promotion

Product promotions made up a significant portion of Dolphin’s video content, created for social media campaigns and in-page streaming.

Role

Managed the entire creative lifecycle: Concept Development, Interview Direction, Production, and Post-Production.

Challenges

Product Features:
Capturing product workflow content was an ongoing challenge, as engineers and trainers had limited availability. I streamlined the process by creating detailed shot lists and step-by-step instructions to reduce their time commitment. With this approach, I could efficiently simulate workflows through animation once the raw content was acquired.

Product Promotions:
Without paid actors or access to diverse filming locations, the challenge was sourcing stock video that seamlessly fit the brand’s message. A well-planned script allowed me to build a cohesive narrative using stock footage while maintaining authenticity. A flexible stock budget helped, but strategic selection was key to avoiding overuse of generic imagery.

Concept & Approach

Feature videos showcased real-time software workflows, while promotional videos delivered compelling, problem-solving messaging.

For workflow videos, success depended on high-quality content acquisition. For promotional videos, a strong script and carefully curated stock footage were essential. Once these foundational elements were in place, the focus shifted to crafting a narrative that aligned with business objectives and brand identity.

Ice Breakers

Dolphin Imaging & Management Solutions: Event Openers

Produced as engaging openers for Dolphin’s annual subscriber meetings, these videos were designed to set the tone with humor and cultural relevance.

Case Study

Role

Managed the entire creative lifecycle: Concept Development, Videography, Production, and Post-Production.

Challenges

For projects like "Support Wars" and "Pokémon Go," scheduling was the primary challenge. To ensure efficiency, I structured the shoot non-sequentially—collaborating with department managers to film all scenes involving the same staff members within a single session. This minimized workplace disruption and kept production on track.

For "Happy," the challenge was logistical coordination. I mapped a shooting route matching the song’s runtime, assigned volunteers specific timecodes and locations, and executed the shoot in a single take.

For the "Dolphin Timeline," research was a key factor—aligning cultural and technological events with company milestones, including selecting #1 songs for each year to create a nostalgic, engaging sequence.

Concept & Approach

The goal of each video was to bring energy and levity to the event’s kickoff, ensuring attendees started a full day of sessions and training in a positive, engaged mindset.

For narrative-driven videos, I developed scripts, planned shot blocking, and scheduled production to optimize efficiency. "Support Wars" required custom-built lightsaber props, which I fabricated using PVC irrigation components, then animated frame by frame in post-production. "Dolphin Timeline" involved meticulous synchronization of audio and video tracks, using seamless transitions to maintain narrative flow.

Social Media

Dolphin Imaging & Management Solutions: Video Shorts

Examples of short-form video content designed for advertising and engagement.

Case Study

Role

Managed the entire creative lifecycle: Concept Development, Videography, Production, Post-Production, and Social Media Management.

Challenges

One of the biggest challenges was securing buy-in from leadership, as Dolphin was initially slow to recognize the value of short-form content. I overcame this by presenting concept-driven case studies and demonstrating that competitors and customers were already actively leveraging short-form video.

Concept & Approach

Creative direction followed campaign objectives. Product promotions focused on problem-solving rather than feature explanations, while testimonial shorts highlighted what differentiated Dolphin from competitors.

The challenge with social shorts was creating engaging, informative content in under one minute. Motion assets were developed in After Effects and composited in Premiere Pro to deliver high-quality, polished visuals.

Documentary

Executive Presentations (EP): Legal Settlements

Settlement documentaries played a critical role in civil litigation, helping attorneys and their clients secure out-of-court resolutions. Attorneys contracted EP’s video department to create "day-in-the-life" videos, illustrating the mobility challenges and financial hardships faced by their clients. These projects required shooting real-world footage, as well as conducting interviews with the injured party, their family, and friends to paint a stark contrast between their pre- and post-accident lives.

Case Study

Role

Videography, Post-Production.

Challenges:

Interviewing individuals who had undergone traumatic, life-altering events required emotional sensitivity and adaptability. Building rapport and making subjects feel comfortable was essential to capturing authentic, impactful testimony.

Concept & Approach

Each documentary followed a similar structure, but the specific circumstances varied widely. The goal was to create a video so persuasive that opposing counsel would deem it too powerful to risk showing to a jury.

I worked under two highly experienced documentary editors, who had refined an efficient editing workflow. Footage was consistently formatted for streamlined assembly, allowing the editing team to focus on shaping the narrative. Much of the work involved repurposing footage from multiple sources, ensuring the final product was both emotionally compelling and strategically structured.
